DANCE OF THE CHAKRAS METHOD™

A somatic path to reconnect with your body through ancestral movement & the wisdom of the chakras.

Where Dance Becomes a Current of Prayer.

The DOTC method weaves together
ancestral movement, somatic practices and embodied philosophy inspired by Yoga, Martial Arts and African dance traditions. Each practice is designed to guide you out of the mind and back into the intelligence of the body — where transformation becomes possible

When was the last time you truly felt present in your body?

In the middle of everything you carry,
there is space to pause, to breathe, and to return to yourself.

When your energy begins to realign,
life starts to move with more ease — without force, without resistance.

This is a somatic movement practice
inspired by the 8 Limbs of Yoga,
designed to help you move beyond fear,
release mental tension,
and reconnect with the intelligence of your body.

Authentic movement.
Liberation through presence

Created for all bodies and all levels,
this method invites you to experience dance
as a living current of prayer —
where expression, awareness and transformation meet.

You can begin your journey in different ways,
according to where you are right now:

MEET YOUR GUIDE

Amy Secada’s work bridges ancestral movement and emotional release through the body. With over 30 years of experience, she has guided people across more than 20 countries in transforming deeply held emotional patterns through movement. A daughter of the Monacan Indian Nation, Amy brings a deep connection to ancestral wisdom, translating dance into a portal for transformation and reconnection with the body and our mother earth.

She is the creator of the Dance of the Chakras Method™, a 7-stage somatic journey rooted in the understanding that the body holds what the mind cannot process.

Amy has performed and collaborated with internationally renowned artists including Madonna, Wyclef Jean and Fergie, and has choreographed for America’s Best Dance Crew and worked with NIKE Women. She currently lives in Brazil with her daughter Ixã, continuing to dedicate her life to honoring dance as a living, sacred and transformative practice.

TESTIMONIALS

  • This course moved me so much that I just bursted out in tears after finishing the session. I always knew that dance is beyond powerful, but today the aspects of surrender and the explosiveness in our movements as an act of self expression and our fire from within - it just became so clear that if we truly bring THIS ancestral power into our dance we will actually bring all this power as well back into our lives. And be able to create from a place of incredible wisdom and infinite power. I feel it all starts to make sense. I don't know how to express how grateful I am that I somehow found Secadas work. This touches the spiritual dimension of dance in a way I have never seen before.

  • I truly love the dance of the chakras. I'm still at the sacral chakra as I repeated the root chakra session for several weeks as I felt this was what I needed at the moment. I had so many moments of "this was what it was looking for for such a long time". There is so much whoo whoo dance stuff out there without roots, so I was rather relying on my own practice, but this course is so different. I love the combination of ancestral wisdom, yoga philosophy, afro dance moves and the passion that Secada puts into her work. Can't wait for more.

  • Loved this session, releasing the old and updating to the new version of me. I just felt into the center of the most painful experience from the past 5 years and then it released through tears and movement and idk how to put this into words…I'm just so so grateful

  • WOOWW. Amy is not only an incredible dancer, but she is also a very present and adaptable teacher. Her passion for her practice shines through as she weaves together the eastern teachings beautifully with other world traditions, from Africa to the Americas, honoring each and every tradition in their unique ways, yet bringing a fresh perspective to them. This is about Unity, this is about move-meant, this is about introspection and being with what is present, connecting beyond the physical yet being fully grounded in the body, praying with the ancestors and allowing ourselves to feel and move. Not only did I learn new moves and techniques, history and cultural understanding of the movements, but in the live sessions I attended I felt really seen and connected and the energy is HIGH. So grateful to have had this opportunity (and to have the replays because I'll definitely be tuning in over and over again, and I'm sure that each time will be completely different.) Trying not to make it too long, so much gratitude.

  • I recently started Amy Secada’s dance of the chakras practice at home and it has changed my life! I didn’t realize after becoming a mother and suffering with isolation and depression how much I just needed to dance again ! It has always been my passion and I’m so grateful to have found a way I can continue this practice and sharing it with the world
