Come ready to open, listen deeply, unlearn, and return to what is essential.
This unique cultural experience weaves together ancestral wisdom, movement, music, healing, and cultural exchange through master dance classes, cultural panels, nature excursions, traditional auric cleansing rituals, sacred plant medicine ceremonies, and embodied practices guided by honored elders and wisdom keepers of the Huni Kuin and Yawanawá peoples, alongside Yalorixá High Priestess Rita.
“Dance translates what I cannot say in words. Dance connects me with the Universe. Dance connects me with you.”
MASTER CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
iXã is a call to summon the God within us through ancestral tools & authentic expression.
-
Traditional Brazilian Dances Celebrating The Elemental Deities
A study of connection, rhythm and the traditional movements and mythology of the Afro-Brazilian archetypes. A tribute to the movement of life. Nature is alive and has consciousness. Each of them comes from an invisible source, which resides in a spiritual kingdom called Orun. The sources of all life are called Orishas or Orixás. Through their dance, the Orishas move the Universe. We humans, descendants and particles of these Gods, come back to the consciousness of our origin and get aligned with our nature by dancing and celebrating them. Through movement, dance, ecstasy, we find the Gods within us and lose ourselves inside the Gods.
-
A Holistic Exploration of Movement
Learn to activate and heal your Chakras through dance utilizing elements of breath work, Yogic Philosophy, guided play, movement meditations and ancient techniques of Capoeira and African dance. This workshop will focus on exploring movement from a place of intention and joy to break through inhibitions and master weaving physical expression into a potent current of prayer.
-
In this unique class we will play with the thread that intertwines Dance and Capoeira. You will learn traditional transitions, floor movement and how to effortlessly integrate Capoeira into your movement vocabulary. This workshop is an invitation to explore your limits and new possibilities, seeking your natural brilliance without having to perform or or be trapped by showmanship. The ancestral knowledge of Capoeira will be transmitted paying homage to ancestry and at the same time, provoke you to investigate your own creativity, continuity, authenticity and fluidity.
-
